Both oral and poster presentations focused on our recent novel findings about a connection between polycystic ovaries (PCO) and specific angiogenic growth factors that may be responsible for the increased risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) that occurs when women with PCO receive fertility medications. These novel findings may one day help us learn how to reduce the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation, a well known complication of women who have PCO when undergoing fertility treatments. Authors of the studies included: Reshef Tal MD PhD, David Seifer MD, Aya Shohat-Tal PhD, Richard Grazi MD and Henry Malter PhD.
