Nicole Galan,RN is the Donor Egg Program Coordinator at GENESIS. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in biology at Philadelphia University. Additionally, she holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Pace University in New York City. After completing nursing school, she worked at Maimonides Medical Center, taking care of adults of all ages. She joined GENESIS several years ago and has since worked in many departments, including the operating/recovery rooms, ovulation induction and IVF. She also writes for the New York Times Company, about.com, as their polycystic ovary syndrome guide. Ms. Galan’s first book, “The Everything Guide To Fertility”, is do to be released in January, 2011.
Because of Nicole ’s nursing background, she is able to bring a comprehensive approach to the care of patients in the program. She takes both donors and recipients through all aspects of the egg donation process: preliminary screening, matching couples with an egg donor and then providing individualized care through the entire cycle. Nicole works very closely with the physicians and laboratory staff to ensure that GENESIS is in strict compliance with both the FDA and Department of Health guidelines.
Katherine Mah, M.S. is the genetic counselor at GENESIS. She studied biology at the University of Chicago, where she received her undergraduate degree, and at the University of Michigan, where she received her master's degree. Katherine also received a master's degree in human genetics at Sarah Lawrence College and is a board certified genetic counselor.
Before joining GENESIS, Katherine worked as a genetic counselor at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and The Rockefeller University in Manhattan.
